Most premarital conversations cover the practical ground well: finances, where to live, how many kids, if any. What tends to get skipped is the harder, less concrete territory — how each person learned to handle conflict, what closeness and distance actually feel like to them, and what each partner is quietly expecting the other to just know.
Those aren’t conversations that go away if you don’t have them before the wedding. They just show up later, usually with more at stake. Having them early, with some structure and support, tends to make them a lot easier to have.
